What to Expect During Your Gemstone Acupuncture Treatment
Each gemstone acupuncture session begins with a discussion of your mental, emotional, and physical symptoms. The doctor will also check your pulses and assess your tongue, which are physical exam techniques used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to help determine which energy meridians are blocked, deficient, or excessive. Your tongue and pulse diagnosis, together with your symptoms, help guide which gemstones and which acupuncture points will you will benefit from.
During your treatment, you will be fully clothed and laying down comfortably. The Naturopathic Doctor will place gemstones on specific acupuncture points on the body. These points may be on hands, feet, abdomen, arms, legs, and face. In some cases, acupuncture needles are used in combination with gemstones. After all the gemstones are placed, you will relax in the room for the next 20 minutes with therapeutic music in the background or a guided meditation.
After 20 minutes or so, the Naturopathic Doctor will remove all the gemstones (and acupuncture needles). Most people feel a sense of deep relaxation and emotional elevation after a treatment. Some people have emotional releases during treatments or work through blocked thought patterns.
Each session is slightly different, but it is always tailored to you as an individual. We recommended one treatment every one to two weeks along with supportive herbal, homeopathic, and talk therapy for maximum benefit.
