Both Botox ® and Dysport ®  are FDA approved and work to soften expression lines and wrinkles as well as prevent new lines from forming. They work by temporarily paralyzing the muscle they are injected into.

Dysport is a cutting edge prescribed injectable protein used to treat moderate to severe wrinkles by relaxing the facial muscles. It gives you a relaxed, refreshed look without the plastic look or feel. Dysport ® is used all over Europe and is popular in the United States.

There are few differences between Botox ® vs. Dysport ®. Read More Here!

The main difference is that Dysport ® may give you results faster!

At Onyx Integrative Medicine & Aesthetics our doctors administer Dysport ® treatments for just $3.33/Unit.

Where Dysport ® Can Be Used

Dysport ® is effective in many parts of the face.

For both men and women, the most popular areas are the frown-lines (11’s), crow’s feet, and forehead.

We also offer preventative Dysport® for those who do not yet have lines and wrinkles, but would like to be proactive. In other words, stop wrinkles before they start! In these cases, we use very small doses in the areas that are most common for winkles to form such as crow’s feet and between the eyebrows.

Dr. Stephanie is the only person I trust with my filler and dysport needs! She’s a true artist, and I’ve never felt prettier! After my last appt my husband could not stop looking at me and couldn’t put his finger on why “I was looking so beautiful”! Thanks Dr Stephanie! You’re the best!

Dr. Stephanie Nichols is one of the most caring doctors I’ve ever worked with.  I can tell that she is not only passionate about what she does, but excels in her field. I’ve received Botox, micro-needling PRP facials, and fillers from Dr. Nichols as well, which I had fabulous results with. I would highly recommend Onyx Integrative to anyone looking to change their health for the better!

S Michelle

Dr Stephanie is a true artist. I have gone to her several times for Dysport, fillers and vampire facials. She is very honest about what to expect and helped me understand what the best approach for my face was. I am very pleased with the results and the best part is, no one can tell I had ‘work done’! It’s very natural!

FAQ’s

Who is Not a Good Candidate for Dysport?2019-09-03T20:53:00+00:00

Dysport is effective at softening expression lines through preventing muscle movement. Most fine lines and wrinkles respond to Dysport, however, there are a few conditions and groups of people it is not appropriate for.

1. Women who are pregnant or nursing.

2. People with an anaphylactic egg allergy.

3. People who have had an allergic reaction to Botox or Dysport in the past.

4. People who have deep lines at rest (when not moving their muscles) may not notice a drastic change in their wrinkles as their muscle are present even without muscle movement. However, over time with continued treatments, these lines may soften.

5. Dysport is not effective for sagging skin or crepey skin as this is due to skin laxity which will not be improved with Dysport.

Is There Any Downtime or Side Effects With Dysport?2019-11-12T14:54:49+00:00

Dysport treatments do not have any downtime. You can leave the office and head back to work or out with friends and no one will notice a thing. In some cases, people may have small pin sized bruises – especially around the eyes.

For most people there are no side effects whatsoever. It is important to follow all the after care instructions, such as staying upright for 4 hours afterward to prevent the product from shifting.

In very rare cases, Dysport can affect the muscles of the eyelid and create a heavy eyelid. This could happen from improper placement of the product, or from laying down or manipulating the area after treatment. This is not dangerous and will go away in 3 months. Our Doctors are fully trained in proper product placement to prevent this from happening.

Does Getting Dysport Hurt?2019-11-12T14:56:19+00:00

The good news its Dysport treatments are virtually painless. The needles are very small and thin so you will not feel pain during the procedure – just small pricks.

How Long is My Dysport Appointment?2019-11-12T14:55:46+00:00

Your first appointment will be approximately 30 minutes. This allows Dr. Stephanie to assess your areas of concern, discuss the best treatment options for you, and answer all of your questions. The procedure itself only takes about 5-10 minutes! This means, it is a great lunch-time procedure.

Follow-up visits are 15 minutes however extended appointment times are available if you would like more time to consult with Dr. Stephanie. Making sure you are comfortable is our priority.

How Long Does Dysport Last?2019-09-03T20:54:36+00:00

Every person is a bit different, however, for most people Dypsort lasts between 12-16 weeks.

How Quickly Will I See Results With Dysport?2019-11-12T14:55:18+00:00

What is exciting about Dysport is how quickly people start to see results! Most people see results between 3-7 days after their Dysport treatment. The full effect is seen after 10-14 days.

Is a Unit of Dysport the Same as a Unit of Botox?2019-09-03T20:55:59+00:00

Dysport and Botox are both measured in units, but they are measured a bit differently. One unit of Botox is about the same as three units of Dysport. This means, if you are used to getting 10 units of Botox in your forehead, you will need 30 units of Dysport for the same effect.

Don’t worry, at Onyx Integrative Medicine & Aesthetics, Dysport is $3.33/unit which is 1/3 the price of 1 unit of Botox!

How Many Units of Dysport Will I Need?2019-09-03T20:56:26+00:00

The number of units of Dysport you will need depends on a few factors.

1. Which areas are being treated: Some areas only take a few units, such as vertical lip lines whereas others like the frown lines (11’s) require a higher number. Some averages include:

Crow’s feet – 54-90 units

Frown lines (11’s) – 60-120 units

Forehead lines – 15-45 unit

2.The strength of your muscles: Deeper more established expression lines and wrinkles tend to need more units than lines that are just forming. Also, men tend to have stronger facial muscles than women and therefore require more units.

3. The intensity of ‘freezing’ you want: If you wish to slightly soften your expression you will need fewer units than somebody who wants to prevent all movement.
