Most people notice that they look more refreshed, and report a glow to their skin a few days after the first session. However, keep in mind this procedure helps to stimulate collagen production, which occurs over the next several weeks and up to 6 months after the last session. In other words, you can expect to see improvements up to 6 months after your last session

For hair restoration patients, most report a gradual thickening of hair follicles and the appearance of new hair 6-12 weeks after their first session and see continued improvement for several months.

For most people, one session every 4-8 weeks for a total of 3-4 sessions is recommended. However, people who have deep wrinkles, acne scars, and moderate-severe photo-aging may require more sessions.

Maintenance is different for every person. Some people choose to continue with sessions every 4-8 weeks, and others come 2-3 times per year. Wearing SPF daily, eating a healthy diet, and using excellent skin care products help to maintain results. Dr. Stephanie can help make recommendations on any or all of these.

In all, each microneedling procedure takes around one hour in total. There is about 20-30 minutes of prep time which includes applying a numbing cream to your face and thoroughly cleansing your skin.

The microneedling facial itself takes approximately 30-4- minutes.

Immediately after the treatment, your skin will be bright red, and tender to the touch. In addition, most people report a feeling of a mild sunburn. Fortunately, this procedure has very little downtime. Most people are back to work the next day and may look a bit red. Next, over the next few days, people may peel slightly. In total, healing time is approximately 2-5 days.


In most cases, people report only slight discomfort during the treatment. However, areas around the mouth, eyes, and scalp tend to be the most sensitive. Dr. Stephanie applies a topical numbing cream to the treatment areas, which helps with any discomfort.
