Dermal fillers are smooth gel injectables made of hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in your body that helps to provide fullness and elasticity. Naturally over time, skin loses its natural hyaluronic acid, which can result in loss of volume, wrinkles, and folds of the skin. However, injections with dermal fillers can restore lost volume as well as add extra volume to areas like the lips and cheeks.
For years, Restylane® has been one of the world’s best-selling dermal fillers. There are various Restylane® products: Restylane®, Restylane Silk®, Restylane Lyft®. The difference between these products is their particle size and how much volume they create. This means each of these products are better suited for different areas of the face.
During your consultation, Dr. Stephanie will guide you on whether Restylane®, Restylane Silk®, or Restylane Lyft® is the best filler for your needs.
Before & After Dermal Filler Treatment
This is the thinnest of the Restylane® family of dermal fillers. Therefore, it creates the softest results. It is best suited to wrinkles around the mouth (“smokers lines”), restoring lost volume to the lips without adding too much extra volume, and stubborn lines/wrinkles on the face.
Restylane® is a medium consistency which makes it a very versatile dermal filler. Therefore, it is appropriate in several areas of the face, including the lips, nasolabial folds, some areas of the cheeks, and marionette lines. In addition it creates a soft, natural look.
Restylane Lyft® is the thickest of the fillers, and it draws and holds hydration. Because of this, it is perfect for restoring lost volume or adding volume to the cheeks. In addition, it is well suited to the nasolabial folds.
The number of syringes you will require depends on several factors including the treatment area and your specific volume loss. In some cases, multiple syringes may be needed for optimal effects. In addition, if you are truly unhappy with the way your dermal filler looks, the filler can be dissolved with the injection of hyaluronidase.
What to Expect
Your appointment will begin with a consultation to discuss your expectations, goals, as well as budget. Next, Dr. Stephanie will help you decide on which products will best for your needs. After that, a topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area to ease discomfort. Lastly, Dr. Stephanie will perform your injections. You can expect some bruising and swelling over the next 3-5 days. The area that tends to bruise most is the lips. Also, you may have some swelling, unevenness, as well as lumps and bumps for approximately two weeks and up to one month. The best part is that results last, on average, between 9-12 months.
Dr. Stephanie is the only person I trust with my filler and dysport needs! She’s a true artist, and I’ve never felt prettier! After my last appt my husband could not stop looking at me and couldn’t put his finger on why “I was looking so beautiful”! Thanks Dr Stephanie! You’re the best!
Dr. Stephanie Nichols is one of the most caring doctors I’ve ever worked with. I can tell that she is not only passionate about what she does, but excels in her field. I’ve received Botox, micro-needling PRP facials, and fillers from Dr. Nichols as well, which I had fabulous results with. I would highly recommend Onyx Integrative to anyone looking to change their health for the better!
Dr Stephanie is a true artist. I have gone to her several times for Dysport, fillers and vampire facials. She is very honest about what to expect and helped me understand what the best approach for my face was. I am very pleased with the results and the best part is, no one can tell I had ‘work done’! It’s very natural!
