What are the Side Effects of Kybella® ?
The most common side effect of Kybella is swelling. Brushing and numbness after your treatment are also possible. Some people experience hair loss in the area. There are some rare, more serious side effects which include:

Who is and is Not a Good Candidate for Kybella® ?
Kybella will help to decrease the amount of fatty tissue under the chin. People with a moderate to severe amount of fullness under their chin are a good candidate for Kybella.
Kybella is not intended for use in areas other than the submental area (under the chin).
It does not tighten the skin, therefore, people who have excessive loose skin under their chin area are not a good candidate for Kybella.
Fatty tissue under the muscles located under the chin cannot be treated with Kybella.

Treatment with Kybella starts with a consultation to assess if you are a good candidate. During your treatment, the doctor will apply a topical numbing cream to decrease any pain. Next, the doctor will map out the treatment area and administer Kybella via small injections.

The treatment area is numbed with topical numbing cream and then Kybella® is injected to the treatment area. Dr. Stephanie will provide you an ice pack to alleviate any discomfort.
Aftercare
After Kybella® injections, minimize swelling and redness with cold packs, and manage mild discomfort with approved pain relievers. Avoid touching or massaging the treated area, and steer clear of intense exercise and sun exposure for a few days. Patience is needed as full results take 4-6 weeks.
